Description
As I was almost ready to go back to the car after a January stroll on the north shore of Eagle Lake in Lassen County (California, USA) the "blue hour" light absolutely "popped" and I grabbed this composition between the tules that line the banks at that end of the lake.
Eagle Lake, located in Lassen County, California, is the second-largest natural freshwater lake in the state, covering about 1,500 acres. Known for its serene beauty, the lake is a popular spot for birdwatching, especially for migratory waterfowl like the Western Grebe and various species of ducks. The surrounding area offers excellent opportunities for fishing, boating, and hiking. The Eagle Lake area is also rich in Native American history, with nearby sites reflecting the culture of the indigenous Maidu people. The lake's remote location adds to its tranquil charm, making it a peaceful getaway for outdoor enthusiasts.

Native Americans have an eye for the sacred, Mike, and I empathize with your willingness to let nature reveal herself in her own time.
