Description

This image captures the galactic core of our wonderful little Milky Way Galaxy from Antelope Lake in Plumas County, California, USA on a mid April morning. The small island in the frame is directly across from the Lost Cove Boat Ramp, the lake’s only launch facility. On this particular morning I was struck by how wonderfully clear it was aside from a few wispy clouds, allowing for some wonderful starry reflections on the water. I thought the stars looked a bit like gemstones. The warm glow on the horizon on the left of the frame is from the town of Portola California in the distance.
