Description
I captured this image in the northwestern Nevada desert, between Pyramid Lake and the California Line. I shot it on a small railroad spur at the switch where a single track widens in to two tracks. I composed the image so it would contain the large switch used to send cars down one track or the other and so the curve in the tracks, which are operated by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) railroad, creates a line to lead the viewer’s eye in to the brightest part of the sky as the sun was beginning to rise in the left of the frame.
I really enjoyed this peaceful morning in the desert. I hope someone enjoys the image.
