Description
This image captures 5 of 6 Blue Angels Boeing F/A-18E “Super Hornets” in a steep climb alongside a waxing gibbous moon. I captured the shot at the 2022 Aviation Roundup in Minden Nevada, USA. To be completely honest, prior to the show I paid no attention to moonrise/set times and had no idea the moon would be visible in the sky. Furthermore, while panning around with my telephoto lens I never once actually noticed the moon during the entire show. If I had, I can assure you I would have at least TRIED to get a few more shots showing the moon with aircraft. Thanks to some admitted dumb luck, I did get this one.
