Description

This image captures a railroad crossing in the remote northwestern Nevada desert in the "wee hours" of a summer morning. The image was taken just as "astro darkness" was giving way to "civil twilight." This timing, along with some wispy clouds reflecting a bit of light pollution from nearby Reno resulted in in wonderful tones in the sky, which features the galactic core of our Milky Way.

That’s some serious cosmic storytelling—earthly stillness meets galactic drama. The way the crossing sign pops against the Milky Way feels cinematic, like a scene from a quiet sci-fi film. Beautiful timing and tones!
