Thamnophis elegans elegans, or Western Terrestrial Garter Snake, photographed on a log over water at Crater Lake in the Lassen National Forest (California, USA). On this day these beautiful little creatures were everywhere in the rocks around the lake. They are very impressive to watch move, whether on land or water.
