The plume from the Dixie Fire of 2021 billowing smoke as seen from nearby Deer Creek. This brutal fire burned from mid July to well into October. It burned nearly a million acres and did an estimated 1.5 billion dollars in damage in 5 different large California Counties. The most devastating was the utter destruction of the town of Greenville in Plumas County which I travel through frequently. This fire got to within just over a mile of my home forcing my wife and I to evacuate for 2 weeks. Thankfully for us, the amazing folks who battle these blazes were able to keep it from entering our small community.
First of all, thank you for stopping by my little gallery. Whether you're a fellow artist, potential buyer, or a casual observer, I'm glad something made you want to take a look at my work. I've appreciated fine photography of all types for as long as I remember. I suspect it is at least partially hereditary as my parents met while each was involved in photographic pursuits for the US Navy (mom in the darkroom and dad in the field). Since my first instant film camera as an adolescent, I've always had a passion for photography and a real appreciation for what goes in to making a truly fine image.
