Description
California State Route 32 is a beautiful piece of highway that runs from Plumas County, through Tehama County and on to Butte County in the city of Chico. For several miles it winds along Deer Creek, which is an absolutely gorgeous stretch of alpine stream. The road can be quite treacherous in winter and, unfortunately, closures due to accidents in winter storms are fairly common. On this particular stormy December day we were fortunate enough to get through without much trouble other than the slow going. I took advantage of the few wide spots in the road to stop and stretch the legs a bit and one of those wide spots was at my favorite of the bridges on the road so I grabbed a shot which I think conveys the overall beauty of the journey that day.

This is gorgeous, Mike! Stark, cold but beautiful in it's simplicity! I lived in Oklahoma where they sometimes have snow like that. But now I live close to Palm Beach, Florida. Much warmer winters here. Laura Kaye Kisaoglu
