Description
I’ve long been enamored with the architecture of some of the old PG&E powerhouses around northern California. Hat #1 on Hat Creek near Cassel is definitely one of the cool looking ones. I’m also figuring out that light colored stone or concrete reflects infrared light wonderfully. This makes these old structures great subjects for infrared monochrome images. This one’s a bit challenging due to the thick trees around it and the raging water in the creek that limits vantage points to shoot from but I think this angle works with the path through the bare trees and with a nice amount of clouds in the background. The scene has a bit of a surreal, mysterious “vibe”, at least to me.
