Artist's Description

This image captures four horses at The Dreamcatcher wild horse sanctuary in Lassen County California, USA. According to the nice lady who runs the sanctuary when she saw my social media post, these animals were originally part of the famous Gila Herd from Arizona and were temporarily in this field to keep them safe from wildfires that were still ravaging the region when this shot was captured. As the horses have been rounded up before and have apparently become somewhat accustomed to closer approaches by humans, they weren’t quite as skittish of my presence as others I’ve seen around the area. These 4 were on a mission to get to a small pond nearby for a drink.
