"I know this is a 15-acre irrigated field of green, but the grass is clearly greener under YOUR nose."

I caught these two mule deer fawns grazing in a field right down the street from my home in Janesville, California, late on a summer afternoon. They were two of at least a dozen spotted cuties in a large group helping keep this field mowed. A second after this shot, the one closest to the camera gave the other a fairly sharp kick to the side of the head. Apparently, human kids aren’t the only ones to sometimes have sharing issues!
