Artist's Description
I get a great deal of enjoyment watching the gray squirrels in our yard year round. It is especially entertaining in winter when they have to dig in the snow to find acorns under our big California black oaks. I captured this image of this victorious critter right after it had dug a nice meal out from under 6 inches or so of packed snow and was headed for the trunk of the big oak the bounty had fallen from to climb up the tree and have breakfast.
I must admit to being reminded of Gollum just a bit although this furry critter is clearly far cuter than Gollum.

I've appreciated fine photography of all types for as long as I remember.
