Artist's Description
Thompson Peak Lookout in the Plumas National Forest Near Janesville California. Shot on a moody evening as summer thunder storms were in the area.
The lookout was built in 1931 and is really showing its age. When this image was shot in June 2020 it was shut down for "construction." I'm not sure if that means it will be rebuilt or just repaired.
Were it not for the trees below you could see my home just 3 "airline" miles to the northeast. The views of the Honey Lake Valley 3000 vertical feet below are spectacular from this vantage point.
About Mike Lee
First of all, thank you for stopping by my little gallery. Whether you're a fellow artist, potential buyer, or a casual observer, I'm glad something made you want to take a look at my work. In 2018 I was able to retire from a professional career that provided a good livelihood for my family but, if I'm honest, left much to be...
