Description
This image captures a bit of a roadside vista of spring time on a small agricultural watering spot in Lassen County, California, USA. Water is piped in to both the trough and pond from a near-by spring. I’m sure it is intended for range cattle and sheep but I also have little doubt the wild horses, burros, antelope, mule deer, and assorted other animals appreciate it, especially later in summer when water gets very scarce in this arid region. Indeed, if one looks closely (or prints this large enough) some ducks can be seen appreciating the small pond in this image.

Beautiful and poignant at the same time! Wonderful light and colors — I love the way the tree leans toward the watering hole — and your choice of a low point of view is powerful! FL
