Description
This 830 nanometer near infrared image captures an old shack I’m quite enamored with out in the Smoke Creek Desert in Lassen County California, just a few miles from the Nevada state line. This area has long been used for range cattle and sheep and I believe this to be a “line shack” that was once used by cowboys although it certainly could have been used by shepherds as well. On this particular April afternoon there were wonderful clouds in the sky which really “pop” in the near infrared part of the spectrum and, for me, this time of rustic old structure just begs for black and white photography!
