Artist's Description
After a couple weeks of less than inspiring photography conditions our little area finally got a few clouds in the sky while the sun was shining. This made me want to get out and about with my infrared modified camera. I wasn’t all THAT motivated though so I went to a little windswept ridge I know not far from my home in Lassen County California. The wind almost always blows here and what soil exists is very loose sand between boulders. As a result any living trees cling to life and many of them take on very interesting shapes. The still bright 5pm sun was shining brightly from camera left in this frame and wonderfully bathing some of these small struggling trees (and one that gave up the struggle) in infrared light.
