Artist's Description
This image captures sunset behind a lone pine on a large snowy flat (Hog Flat Reservoir in Lassen County, California, USA). I was struck by the pace at which vibrant clouds were streaking overhead. These clouds were moving at a very brisk clip that just begged for a longer exposure to convey the motion in the final image. Indeed within a minute of this capture there were no more clouds over the top of the tree.
I chose a 4X5 (8X10) aspect for this image as it was the best fit for the scene.
