Description
Ranch Park on the edge of Susanville California is a wonderful 1100 acre park property managed mostly by Lassen County for which Susanville serves as the county seat (80 acres of the park is managed by BLM). The park consists of nearly 30 miles of trails that are off-limits to motorized travel. For this reason it is popular amongst dog walkers, mountain bikers, trail runners, and just generally folks wanting to get some fresh air! The park gets its name from the fact that much of it was once quite literally a working ranch and a few of the relics from those days are still there, rusting away in the fields. One of these relics is this old car which I THINK is a late ‘30’s model Chrysler but I’m all ears if someone knows better.
I captured this frame using a modified camera that allows me to capture infrared light, in this case 830 nanometers and above. I then added just a bit of an orange and teal split tone to the monochrome image in post production to give it a bit of a vintage “vibe.”
