Description
If you're Shoshone you call it paγi̵nappi̵h. Otherwise, you may call it pogonip or just freezing fog. Whatever your vernacular, it is beautiful if you can stand the chill of being out in it. We can certainly get good doses of it in Lassen County California. I’ve found that juniperus trees (such as, well junipers 😁) are well suited to catch a bunch of the frost when it forms. I thought this scene looked pretty neat at the north end of the Willow Creek Valley on this morning as the sun to camera-right battled to cut the fog; and perhaps add a second digit Fahrenheit to the ambient temperature (I think the car said it was right at 9 when I got out).

also this: PIECE OF ART. Wonderful, lovely, and definitely art. I sincerely hope that you sell this kind of work, Mike. Well deserved because it is not played with digitally but in its raw state (I assume) showing nature as it really is.

The sun as you enlighten us in the description creates an astonishing atmospheric perspective, while the delicate cross lines are subtle. To me, this photograph is magical, Mike, and rare. L/F
