Description
While on an early morning hike in Lassen Volcanic National Park, I stopped to take a breather at this beautiful little cascade known as Lower Hat Creek Falls. Hat Creek originates in two forks in the park before joining several miles down stream and flowing through the communities of Old Station and Cassel before it terminates in to Lake Britton, a reservoir on the Pit River. Further down, it’s known as a blue ribbon trout stream but this far up it’s just blue ribbon beauty. I was truly blessed to have this beautiful spot to myself for a time!
