Description
Lower Glen Alpine Falls, near Fallen Leaf Lake, near South Lake Tahoe in Eldorado County, California is a picturesque little waterfall on Glen Alpine Creek. It is about as wide as it is tall at 75 feet. It sits a very long couple miles off State Route 89. The road in is “paved,” so to speak, but rough, narrow, and fairly heavily traveled, requiring lots of pulling over to let other vehicles pass. On this visit I caught it late in the day as the afternoon sun was beginning to fall behind the forest and ridgeline.
I’ve been here a few times and on this visit in summer of 2022 it was flowing as much as I'd ever seen it.
