Artist's Description

I spotted this lone burro in the high desert of Lassen County, California, USA on a cloudy spring afternoon. I don’t generally see them by themselves but this was the only one in sight on this occasion. It looks to me like it could be a pregnant jenny so perhaps she was looking for some peace as birthing time approached. I rather liked the setting she was standing in, surrounded by the rocky terrain.
