Description
The Mesquite Dunes in Death Valley National Park are a popular tourist stop. Indeed, on this trip my bride and I passed by them several times and saw numerous hikers exploring the sandy mounds. This image captures a small group of those hikers trekking up on the largest dune that can be seen from the parking area. The small human figures atop the dune provide a bit of scale to illustrate the massive size of these piles of sand.
