Description
I captured this image in the early morning hours on Hat Creek just downstream of the aptly named Paradise Meadow in Lassen Volcanic National Park in northern California. In the early morning hour I had the whole trail to myself, never seeing another soul with my only real obstacle being the green fir cones that the large population of pine squirrels was trying to drop on my head in the denser wooded areas as they squeaked their displeasure at my presence. It was a wonderful hike that, as a long time annual pass holder for the park, Iโd yet to do.

it is what I love: simple life. Just to look at the fallen tree across the small river! it's lovely, Mike. Of course, also the sun helps too.

Mike, the leading lines of this image are spectacular. The way the downed trees and creek zigzag to the lit back portion is beautiul.
