I captured this image on a beautiful early autumn morning while walking downstream from the Hat #2 Powerhouse in Shasta County, California, near Cassel. This stretch of the creek is a designated trophy trout area that anglers visit from all over the western USA. The creek here is nearing its end, where it meets the Pit River (now Lake Britton due to the Pit 3 dam). Since the terrain is quite flat, the stream flows lazily, creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere.
