Artist's Description
This is one of no less than 15 great egrets I watched hunting in the shallows on the north end of Lake Almanor (Plumas County, California, USA) one mid-summer evening. This one decided to move to new hunting grounds as the sun was getting very low in the sky and casting wonderful reflections of both it and the coniferous forest that lines the shore of the lake.
