Artist's Description
The Fredonyer Peak Fire Lookout is one of my favorites to visit. Built in 1937 and sitting at nearly 9,000 feet in elevation, the views from its location and much of the drive up there are outstanding. Add in the wonderful brick and wood fencing and walls around it, and itβs definitely worth the drive up the very rough and rocky road to get there (definitely not for low-clearance vehicles!).

About Mike Lee
Official Website:tpeakphotos.art Hello, my name is Mike Lee, and I am a landscape and nature photographer based in Janesville, California. Photography has been a passion of mine for many years, and since retiring from my first career in 2018 I've decided to make photographic art that all-too-important next chapter. Through my lens, I aim to share the landscapes, wildlife, and stunning moments that I encounter in Northern California and beyond. I've always had an appreciation for nature, and living in such a beautiful and diverse area has provided me with endless inspiration. From the towering Sierra Nevada mountains to the serene valleys and forests, I find myself constantly in awe of the world around me. My photography is an attempt to...

I hope you took some close ups too? would love to see the old woodwork and the inside of this too. Very interesting structure. What is on the left of it sticking Up?
Mike Lee replied:
Thank you! I just shot from the outside on this day (although I do have pics of the old outhouse elsewhere in my gallery π ) The tower on the left has a bunch of radio repeaters on it - probably at least one for the Forest Service staff manning the lookout, quite possibly cell phone, and maybe other agencies/entities. It makes sense as it's the highest prominence around and has decent line of sight to the state highway a few miles away.
