Description
This image was captured on an early morning walk on McCoy Flat Reservoir in rural Lassen County, California, USA. It was 11 degrees Fahrenheit on this chilly March morning with the dew point just a couple degrees above ambient temperature. This resulted in a nice coating of hoar frost on the myriad pieces of driftwood that litter the landscape along the northern shore of the “lake” (which is basically a large meadow that is flooded for much of the year but generally dry by the end of summer until the spring thaw). The wispy fog creeping around the area and wonderful pastel tones in the sky created a scene I felt truly blessed to see and photograph.

Great title for an image that makes you feel like you are completely alone in the world.

Very interesting landscape with those trunks in barren snow -- glad you braved the cold to capture it!
