This image captures a wild burro in profile as the animal looks attentively at something out of the frame. The image was captured in an area known as the Smoke Creek desert in Lassen County, California, USA. The area has large populations of both wild horses and burros and is managed by the The Bureau of Land Management (BLM). On this particular morning smoke from nearby wild fires added some haze to the air which somewhat softened the golden morning light and added sort of a “dreaminess” to the landscape.
