Description
I spotted a small herd of pronghorn in a field alongside a highway in Lassen County, California, USA. Normally, when this happens, the cycle is that I pull over, get stopped, and find that they've covered about 200 yards away from me by the time I've fully opened the car door. These guys and gals cooperated a bit better, especially considering that I was upwind in a pretty stiff breeze. Most of the group wanted nothing to do with me as I stood there but one big doe, who I dubbed Curious Georgina, advanced toward me a couple times, even crouching a bit as if she was stalking me at one point. Pronghorn are known for being both skittish and curious so I guess the latter trait won out for her for a few moments as I stood there doing my impression of a statue of a guy with a camera.

revisiting! yes, I agree: nature is breathtaking and should be considered a gift that we ought to take care of.
