Description
This rare infrared capture of Burney Falls reveals Theodore Roosevelt's 'Eighth Wonder of the World' as few have ever seen it. While this iconic 129-foot cascade is one of California's most photographed waterfalls, infrared photography transforms it into an ethereal, otherworldly scene - I've only encountered one other infrared image of these falls.
I captured this on a dramatic May afternoon using a full-spectrum camera with an 830-nanometer filter, rendering the surrounding forest in glowing whites against the silky cascade. The unsettled weather created striking clouds while providing perfect light for the infrared effect.
This unique perspective on a California landmark is perfect for waterfall enthusiasts, Northern California lovers, infrared photography collectors, and anyone seeking distinctive black-and-white nature art. An excellent statement piece for homes, offices, or spaces celebrating iconic Western landscapes.

The IR processing adds to the "frostiness" of the presentation. Another beauty, Mike. - Mike (V/F)
