Description
I captured this image on an early “spring” day in Plumas County California. It was spring because the calendar said it was April but, with low temps in the teens and twenties Fahrenheit it’s hard to call it spring at that time of the year. A local colloquialism in this area is that we have 3 seasons; July, August, and winter. Another says that we only have two; winter and road construction. This frame captures a stream known as Bailey Creek which seasonally flows out of the Thousand Lakes Wilderness into Lake Almanor just a mile or two down stream from this location. I captured the image using a “full spectrum” modified camera and a 830 nanometer filter so it was completely created with infrared light, which I believe produces wonderfully dramatic black and white imagery.
